Women 'Crushing It' Wednesday: Lorna Landvik

Landvik has written eleven novels – most of them set in Minnesota.

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - This week's "Women Crushing It Wednesday" is featuring a familiar name for Sunrisers.

Lorna Landvik is the author of "Once in a Blue Moon Lodge," this month's Sunrisers Book Club selection.

Landvik has written eleven novels – most of them set in Minnesota.

“I just like to think that I keep the doors to my imagination open and I’m not afraid of what will come out,” Landvik says.

It hasn’t always been a smooth ride in the writing world for Landvik, who says she was rejected thirty times before she finally sold her first novel. “I just thought – I’m not going to let somebody’s ‘no’ be my final answer,” she says.

Whether it’s writing a book or baking pecan pie – Landvik says creating plays a vital role in her life.

“It’s such an antidote to depression or feeling lost,” she says. “Get out there and make things.”

Lanvik also enjoys performing on stage and will be in the show “Party in the Rec Room” every weekend in January at Bryant Lake Bowl.
