ROBBINSDALE, Minn. — The Armstrong High School marching band is set to perform during the halftime show of the Outback Bowl.

The Minnesota Gophers will face off with the Auburn Tigers in the game on New Year's Day in Tampa, Florida.

“This is the Armstrong Marching Band’s fourth trip performing at the Outback Bowl, and it is always a highlight for students to perform for a primetime New Year's Day Big Ten/SEC bowl game,” said Todd Burkholder, Armstrong’s band director.

Over 2000 performers come together at Raymond James Stadium each year as tens-of-thousands of fans cheer them on, according to the Outback Bowl's website.

The halftime show kicks off with the colleges' marching bands and dance teams performing, followed by "the famed mass band performance, featuring as many as 15 high school bands and over 300 dancers in mesmerizing routines," the website states.

Edina High School's Assistant Principal tweeted out that their marching band will also perform in the halftime show.
