Ben's Legacy Playground at Groves Academy

It's the creation of Todd Lehman of Cre8Play a local company that prides itself in creating amazing play environments.

ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. - Normally when the bell rings at the end of the day, and especially at the end of the week, kids are racing to get out of school.

But today at Groves Academy in St. Louis Park, the kids just wanted to stay at school.

That’s because the new playground had its grand opening.

The playground isn’t ordinary though.

It’s the creation of Todd Lehman of Cre8Play a local company that prides itself in creating amazing play environments.

Lehman was more than happy to offer his services once he heard the story of young Ben Ruedisili.

Ben passed away at the age of 9 in April of 2015 due to an infection in his throat.

He was a Groves Academy student at the time, and a bundle of energy.

Ben’s passion for play was contagious and so a legacy fund was formed in his honor.

The first signature gift of the fund is this amazing playground on the Groves campus.

The hope is that the playground will live on for many years to come, instilling the transformative power of play helping students unleash the talent, confidence and potential they y are fostering at Groves Academy.
