ST PAUL, Minn. — With 13 games to play in the regular season, the Wild sit in the final wild card spot but that seems to change on a nightly basis. This team is fighting for its postseason life during a season that their general manager believes is not lost.

I sat down for a conversation with Wild GM Bill Guerin where we discussed everything from trading fan favorite Jason Zucker to the firing of Bruce Boudreau last month to where this team is heading.

"They've taken the ball and run with it and that's what I was asking them to do," Guerin said during an interview on Tuesday afternoon.

"I respect everyone's opinion, I really do.  We have a passionate fan base here but I have a job to do and I'm doing the things that I feel that I need to do to bring a winner here. I'll say it again, I respect everyone's opinion here...I'm not here to make everyone happy. I'm here to build a winner," Guerrin said.

The Wild host Vegas on Thursday night at 7 p.m. at Xcel Energy Center.
