MINNEAPOLIS — Despite only signing three players from the state of Minnesota, the Gophers maintained one of the strongest classes in the country.

Wednesday was National Signing Day for football.

Head coach P.J. Fleck said the successful season is beneficial for recruiting because it can help hold on to a player that might flip their commitment to another school.

The Gophers are heading to the Outback Bowl to play Auburn on January 1, 2020.

"We're not going to let a win define who we recruit," Fleck said on Wednesday. "I'm not saying you turn them down but we don't look at that."

According to 247Sports, Minnesota holds the 32nd best recruiting class in the country.

Rosemount's Johnathan Mann, Orono's Danny Spriggow and Anoka's Cody Lindenberg all signed with the Gophers.
