MINNETRISTA, Minn. — Over at Mound Westonka High School, the student has become the master.

Just two years ago, Taylor Smith was backing up the now starting goalie for St. Cloud State in Emma Polusny. These days though, Taylor has become one of the state’s best as a senior, using the same tools taught to her by Emma.

On the season, Taylor is top three statewide in virtually every statistical category, with her 14 wins, .966 save percentage and 0.56 goals against average trailing only Warroad’s Quinn Kuntz (Ohio State commit).

Taylor’s success in net has a lot to do with her cerebral play – which makes sense considering she maintains a 4.0 GPA.
