Joe Mauer, Justin Morneau, Jim Thome, Johan Santana, Michael Cuddyer, Torii Hunter, Joe Nathan, Corey Koskie, Adam Thielen, Zach Parise and Brent Kallman were all in attendance Friday to host a fun, sports-filled event at Target Field for more than 25 families from Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare.
The children could take some swings and throw with the athletes, including taking slap-shots with Zach Parise of the Minnesota Wild.
They could also throw the football around with Vikings receiver Adam Thielen.
This has been a long-standing relationship with Joe and Maddie Mauer and Gillette.
Maddie was a nurse at Gillette.
The Mauer’s decided to make the event bigger by bringing kids to Target Field for a once-in-a-lifetime experience with pro athletes.
