ST PAUL, Minn. — Saturdays are the perfect time for Maya Rivera and her family to play a casual game of bocce ball.
That family friendly weekly competition takes place in the basement at Half Time Rec in St. Paul is getting Maya ready for a much bigger stage — at the Special Olympics World Games next month in Abu Dhabi.
The 21-year-old will be competing in bocce ball for Team USA and is just one of four Minnesota athletes taking part in the upcoming games!
Of course, this will be a family trip with Maya's parents and sister Serafina going along to cheer her on!
And...one thing is for certain Maya will definitely be having a ball!
