GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. -- A Minnesota athlete is headed to Cuba to compete.

It will mark the first time Americans will participate in any Cuban competition since the United States began the move towards full diplomatic relations with the nation.

Jessica Rossing of Duluth is among 25 Americans that will compete in the triathlon this weekend. She says it's a once in a lifetime opportunity.

According to the International Triathlon Union, this weekend's event is Cuba's first-ever triathlon to welcome American athletes.
