Minnesota's new esports team unveiled as Minnesota RØKKR, to compete in CoD League

The team will be competing against some of the greatest Call of Duty players in the world for the championship title.

MINNEAPOLIS — Minnesota will be joining the Call of Duty League with their new team, Minnesota RØKKR, whose name was unveiled Tuesday.

The announcement was made by the team via Twitter.

The team will be competing against some of the greatest Call of Duty players in the world for the championship title.

Other teams in the Call of Duty League include, Atlanta FaZe , Los Angeles OpTic Gaming , Dallas Empire, Florida Mutineers, London Royal Ravens, Los Angeles Guerrillas, New York Subliners and Toronto Ultra.

According to the team's website, RØKKR translates to twilight. The word has a Norse origin, which can be interpreted as a nod to the Minnesota Vikings.
