MINNEAPOLIS - The Twins injury-depleted lineup got a shot in the arm Thursday with word the club has reinstated power-hitting third baseman Miguel Sano from the disabled list.

Sano missed 24 games after suffering a hamstring strain, the latest in a series of injuries that have kept him out of the lineup for significant amounts of time. He recently completed a five-game rehab assignment at Triple-A Rochester, where he went 6 for 16 at the plate (.375 average) with two homers, three RBI and three walks.

Sano's return Friday against Seattle will allow Eduardo Escobar to resettle in at shortstop. To make room on the roster the Twins returned outfielder Jake Cave to Rochester.

The Twins Disabled List has been full this young season. First baseman Joe Mauer is currently sidelined with concussion symptoms, catcher Jason Castro is done for the year following major knee surgery, staff ace Ervin Santana and fellow starter Trevor May are on rehab assignments.
