Vikings fans share game day excitement

Vikings fans young and old showed up to U.S. Bank Stadium Sunday in the mood to spread some holiday cheer.

MINNEAPOLIS — "This is Millie — Baby Millie — and it's her first Vikings game," said Maddie Meldrum.

Maddie and her husband, Trevor, are introducing their daughter to the Vikings young. They traveled all the way from Idaho for the game.

"It's easy to be a Vikings fan right now!" Maddie said.

"To be quite honest, I was attracted to them because I love the color purple," said Dominic Zito.

Zito is a Vikings fan from Walden, New York.

"Anytime you can beat a New York team, makes me happy. And if it's the Vikings, I'm twice as happy," Zito said. "I told my wife, I was going to wear a Santa hat because I figure it's a better chance of seeing me on TV and she'd see me. But I don't think she'll see this feed."

Holiday gear is certainly on trend for fans.

"I dress up every time I come in. I mean, I was going to do Vikings colors but it's Christmas. It's December and why not?" said Juan Cruz in his full holiday-themed outfit.

Erick Severson's outfit was creative as well, with two sweatshirts cut in half and sewn together. One for the Vikings and one for the Jets.

"Yep, my coworker, I gave her two of my hoodies and had them split it. Nobody is going to lose today!" Severson said.
