ST. PAUL, Minn. - After missing the first 39 games of the season, Minnesota Wild forward Zach Parise is ready to make his debut.

Parise announced on his Twitter account that he will be playing in Tuesday night's tilt against the Florida Panthers, writing “I'm glad it's finally here. I'm glad I get a chance to play the green light.”

The Minnesota native and NHL All-Star has been out of the Wild lineup since injuring his back in the 2016-17 playoffs. He attempted to rehab the injury through physical therapy but suffered a number of setbacks before having surgery in October.

To make room for Parise on the active roster Minnesota placed forward Zach Mitchell on waivers. The club will have another difficult decision to make once forward Nino Niederreiter is ready to play.
