Bird expert unveils new book 'Birds In Minnesota: Revised and Expanded'

Author Robert Janssen says the book is an indispensable resource for birdwatchers in Minnesota, both for the passionate amateur and the professional.

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. — In the nearly half-century since the first publication of the landmark "Birds in Minnesota," the state and its bird populations have undergone dramatic changes.

Bird Expert Robert Janssen says this newly revised, expanded edition reflects those changes as well as the most recent advances in birding, making it an indispensable resource for birdwatchers in Minnesota, both for the passionate amateur and the professional.

Janssen is one of Minnesota’s top birding experts, and is the author of "Birds of Minnesota State Parks". He says for many years he was editor of the quarterly journal of the Minnesota Ornithologists’ Union and is a past president of that organization. He is coordinator of the Minnesota Breeding Bird Survey for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and consults for the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
