ST. PAUL, Minn. - Fortnite is the video game taking the country by storm. It's fitting, then, that a pig named Porknite would serve as the St. Paul Saints 2018 ball pig.

Pokrnite is taking over for last year's pig, Alternative Fats. The Saints revealed the name at its annual "World's Game of Catch" in Lowertown.

Other names the Saints considered include Meghan Porkle (an ode to the Royal Wedding,) Pig Lebowski (in honor of filmmakers Joel and Ethan Coen and the 30th anniversary of The Big Lebowski,) as well as "Stephen Hamking" (in honor of the late Stephen Hawking.)

Since 1993, the Saints have received the pig from Dennis and Marilyn Hauth.

The Saints open the 2018 season on the road this Friday, May 18. The home opener is on Monday, May 21 with a 3:05 p.m. Click here for more information and tickets.
