Rhodes celebrates Community Day by giving back

The two time Pro Bowler was raising money for a good cause in Edina Wednesday night.

EDINA, Minn. - For a Wednesday night in April, there was a lot of Vikings purple at Buffalo Wild Wings at Southdale Center.

The surge of skol was brought on by a two-time Pro Bowler in the house. Vikings cornerback Xavier Rhodes dropped in to sign autographs and snap a few pictures. All for a good cause.

"Actually, I was one of those kids growing up," Rhodes told KARE 11. "To see that emotion and see that type of happiness out of those kids, it just lights my day."

The special appearance was to help Buffalo Wild Wings celebrate "Community Day," a fundraiser that supports local Boys and Girls Clubs. Ten percent of the restaurant's total sales on April 18th, as well as 100 percent of autograph session donations went towards local clubs.

The Vikings cornerback says he's excited to be back in town for offseason workouts (minus the snow). He's also excited to get to work alongside his newest co-worker: Quarterback Kirk Cousins.

"Playing against him was a great thing, I'm happy he's on the team," Rhodes says.
