GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. — The Tommies and Johnnies will renew their football rivalry for the 89th time on Saturday afternoon, and this year there's a twist. The MIAC rivals will be playing at Allianz Field in St. Paul, the home of the Minnesota United.
It will be a Division III top 20 showdown between 4th-ranked St. John's (5-0 overall, 4-0 MIAC) and St. Thomas (4-1, 3-0).
This will be the first Tommie-Johnnie football game since the decision to remove St. Thomas from the MIAC Conference this spring. The Tommies are eligible to play in the MIAC through the spring of 2021.
The Johnnies lead the all-time series 52-35-1.
Kickoff is at 1:10pm on Saturday and the game is sold out.
