ST PAUL, Minn. — Coming off perhaps his best three-game stretch of the season, starting goalie Marc-Andre Fleury will be absent from the crease for at least a week.

The Minnesota Wild announced they've placed their starting goalie on Injured Reserve with an upper body injury, which makes him ineligible for at least seven days. In response to the move, the Wild recalled goalie Zane McIntyre from Iowa.

This season, Fleury has gone 6-4-1 with a 2.80 goals-against average (GAA) and a .906 save percentage. His season got off to a slow start, allowing 11 goals in the first four periods, but he's bounced back to familiar form.

Over his last three games — despite going 1-2-0 — he averaged one goal against with a .964 save percentage, including his first shutout of the season last week against the Seattle Kraken. He played Tuesday in the Wild's 2-1 loss to the Nashville Predators where he stopped 23 of the 25 shots he faced.

The Wild will likely turn to Filip Gustavsson, who joined the team during the offseason in a trade with the Ottawa Senators. Gustavsson is 1-3-1 with a 2.18 GAA and .914 save percentage this season.

Like Fleury, Gustavsson has also been settling in as of late. In his last three starts, he's posted a 1.66 GAA with a .947 save percentage.

McIntyre hasn't appeared in an NHL game since Feb. 4, 2017 when he played for the Boston Bruins. In Iowa this season, he's 4-3-0 with a 3.08 GAA and a .903 save percentage.

The Wild return to action Thursday as hosts to the Pittsburgh Penguins, who feature two offensive stars in Sidney Crosby and former Hill-Murray standout Jake Guentzel.
