WOODBURY, Minn. — Minnesota possesses some really impressive pole vaulting talent this season.
Mounds View's Julia Fixsen is one of world's best for her age and has already shattered state records. Fixsen is also a two-time defending champ.
On the boy's side, East Ridge senior Alec Wittman is back to defend his title.
Wittman has already been impressive so far, becoming the state's first pole vaulter to clear 15 feet this season.
The feat happened at Wittman's very first meet of the year, and it broke the previous school record (also held by Wittman).
The Minnesota-Duluth commit now chases some of the best marks in Minnesota history and hopes to repeat as a state champ.
