Science Museum of Minnesota offers Earth Day activities

On the 50th anniversary of Earth Day resources, activities and Omnifest movies are free and online.

MINNEAPOLIS — Wednesday, April 22 is the 50th anniversary of Earth Day and the Science Museum of Minnesota is offering activities to help Minnesota celebrate remotely.

Earth Day is a day of environmental activism, where everyone is encouraged to do what they can to help keep our world clean and healthy.

"Happy 50th Birthday Earth Day!" is an online resource from the Science Museum to encourage families to learn about what they can do to improve the environment around them. You can sign up to adopt a storm drain, document the creatures and plants around you by signing up for the City Nature Challenge, or learn how to take better care of the trees you walk past everyday.

Three Omnifest movies are also available on the Museums website, 'Dinosaurs Alive', ‘Mummies: Secrets of the Pharaohs,’ and ‘Wild Oceans.’
