47-year-old man dies in Douglas County crash

Initial evidence suggested that a westbound GMC Yukon entered the intersection and pulled out in front of a southbound Dodge pickup, police said.

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Minn. — A 47-year-old man died after a vehicle crash in Douglas County Saturday.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office received a report of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of County Road 40 and County Road 8 at around 1:13 p.m. 

Initial evidence suggested that a westbound GMC Yukon entered the intersection and pulled out in front of a southbound Dodge pickup, police said.

The vehicles collided and rolled into a ditch.

The pickup was towing a large enclosed trailer.

The driver of the pickup was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. He has been identified as Robert William Kirscht, of Brandon.

The passenger of the pickup was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the Yukon was uninjured.
