ST. CLOUD, Minn. — A 76-year-old man died from head injuries sustained after he was ejected from his ATV in a crash Tuesday morning in Lake George Township.
Daniel Schwieters of Belgrade was driving his 2002 Polaris Ranger on southbound County Road 175, started making a left turn onto 265th Street and was struck from behind by a 2002 Ford Explorer, police said.
Schwieters was ejected from the ATV and sustained a severe head injury, authorities said.
The Ford was being driven by a 27-year-old who was evaluated by police at the scene and released.
The ATV was equipped with seat belts, but police said Schwieters was not wearing one at the time of the crash.
The crash remains under investigation by the Stearns County Sheriff's Office and the Minnesota State Patrol.
