ST PAUL, Minn. — The Minnesota State Patrol is urging drivers to slow down after 10 squad cars have been hit in 12 days.
The state patrol posted on Twitter on Tuesday at about 12:45 p.m., saying that 10th squad had been hit within the last hour. Move over when you see flashing lights, they urged, and if you can't move over, slow down.
The state patrol said on Monday that five of the first nine crashes with squads involved injuries.
It isn't just squad cars that are being hit during this winter weather.
State troopers responded to 318 crashes from 10:30 p.m. Monday night to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Twenty-two of those involved injuries, and one involved serious injuries. They say an additional 515 vehicles spun out or went off the road in that time.
