WASHINGTON — Hot and humid over the weekend with more storms on the way.
Sunday: Partly cloudy and hotter with isolated p.m. storms. High: 92.

Monday: Mostly sunny and hot. High: 94.
Sunday heats up again with highs in the low to mid 90s with heat index values near 100 degrees. We only have a chance of isolated p.m. storms. Those storms could produce heavy rainfall and gusty winds. Most of the storms will stay west of D.C. along I-81.
By Monday most of the cloud cover and rain will move out. The afternoon will be clear, sunny, and hot. High temperatures will make it into the mid 90s and with the humidity it will feel even warmer than that. The heat index Monday will be close to 100 degrees. Be sure you are staying hydrated! We could still see an isolated storm pop up Monday, but the majority of the day will be dry.

Our hot and humid weather will continue through the first half of the week. Plan on scattered storms on Tuesday evening with more on the way. A cold front moves through the DMV Wednesday and could produce more widespread strong to severe weather. Wednesday may be our next Weather Watch Alert day. A few showers are possible early Thursday, but the rest of the day will be dry. Get ready for more sunshine Friday and Saturday with highs in the 80s and lower humidity.
