Wet snow fell in the early morning hours, with 1"-3" accumulating in the metro and very slick conditions are being reported across the metro.

Snow will return later in the evening and fall heavily through the night into Sunday morning in Wisconsin and in southeastern Minnesota.

The metro will see a huge variance of snow.  The NW suburbs will have 0"-2" but the far SE suburbs will have 8"-10" by Sunday morning.  Scott, Dakota, Rice, Goodhue and Washington Counties will have the heavier amounts.  In those areas 6" to 12"+ is forecasted and that does extend SE to areas from Rochester, La Crosse and then east to Eau Claire.

Winds pick up tonight and a very windy blustery day is expected through Sunday. Travel will be very difficult in the eastern and southeastern parts of Minnesota and for all of Wisconsin.

Temps drop next week with a very cold week ahead.
