Handful of Friday cancellations, delays at MSP

Some flights remain cancelled after a snow storm grounded hundreds of flights on Thursday.

MINNEAPOLIS — Some cancellations and delays are still in effect at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport on Friday following a major spring snow storm.

Several morning arrivals from mid-western destinations like Duluth, Fargo, Grand Forks, and Bismarck are cancelled. A majority of departures, however, are still listed as on-time.

On Thursday, more than 500 flights were cancelled at MSP.

Airport officials told KARE 11 that one of the biggest factors is that planes cannot be de-iced because of the wind.

Officials say people should check the status of their flight before heading to the airport.
