Overnight storms drop lots of rain

A line of strong storms dumped plenty of rain across parts of Minnesota, including the Twin Cities metro area.

Storms, some severe in southern and southwest Minnesota, ripped through the state overnight dropping a lot of rain.

According to the National Weather Service, the peak wind gust was 59 mph near Dovray, northeast of Slayton. 

The highest official rain total was 2.95" in Lucan, which is southwestern MInnesota.

A KARE 11 photojournalist captured flooding video on Fairview Ave. in Roseville, which is where Fairview Ave. travels under Highway 36.

He also spotted flooding on Dean Parkway in Minneapolis near Calhoun Beach Club.
