GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. — The cold snap is finally over, and it was notable for a few reasons. We broke a record cold high on Feb. 13, with a high of minus 3.
The previous record was 0 back in 1909 and 1905. The average temperature was only -4.4 during the week of Feb. 5-16 which was the 3rd coldest stretch in that timespan, ever.
The coldest temperature was 19 below on Valentine's Day, with a wind chill that morning of minus 41.
