MINNEAPOLIS — Power has been restored to thousands across the Twin Cities metro left without electricity in the wake of Tuesday's historic snowstorm.

Xcel Energy's online outage map shows that as of 9 a.m., crews are working to fix 102 separate outages impacting 675 customers. That's in contrast to the 33,500 customers who were without power at the peak of Tuesday's snow event.

“We thank our customers for their patience and understanding as our employees respond to power outages throughout the region,” said Lee Nordby, director of control center operations, Xcel Energy-Minnesota in a release. “Our employees are working hard to quickly and safely restore electric service after today’s storms.”

The areas impacted the most were Hennepin and Ramsey Counties, according to the Xcel Energy's outage map.

Customers can report outages by:

  • Texting "OUT" to 98936
  • Call 1-800-895-1999
  • Or report it through the Xcel Energy mobile app
