The trend for the next couple weeks is chilly. That doesn't mean we won't have any tolerable days, but expect it to feel like winter for the rest of January.
Wind chills Friday stay below zero all day long although actual highs top out in the low teens for the metro. Much colder to the north. Snow is in the forecast for southwestern Minnesota and areas south. Nothing more than flurries for the metro.
Temperatures bottom out Sunday morning with the potential for our first official below zero reading in the metro, although the forecast currently is 0 on the dot. At this point it would be the latest first sub-zero on record for the Twin Cities.
