Drier conditions expected to return for the weekend

Showers and storms continue through mid-week, but drier conditions are back in time for the weekend.

ATLANTA — Wednesday: Scattered afternoon showers and T-Storms. High: 88°.
Thursday: Scattered showers and storms. Rain chance at 50%. High 87°
Friday: Drier air filters in.  Rain chance down to 20%.  High of 88°.


Wednesday brings another day of hot and humid conditions with scattered showers and storms being possible into the afternoon hours as temperatures rise into the upper 80s and lower 90s.

Thursday will bring a repeat of Wednesday with lows in the 70s and highs in the upper 80s accompanied by scattered showers and storms in the afternoon, but a change in our pattern will arrive for Friday.

Rain chances will fall to a slight chance for Friday with a partly cloudy sky overhead as lows sit in the 70s and highs in the 80s.

Drier and slightly cooler conditions arrive for the weekend. Saturday through Monday will bring a partly cloudy to mostly sunny sky each day with lows in the 60s to 70s and highs in the 80s.

Rain chances return to a slight chance for Tuesday with lows in the 60s and highs in the 80s under a partly to mostly cloudy sky.

While there are a lot of rain chances in the seven day forecast, not everyone will see rain each day and the totals will amount to around a quarter of an inch to half an inch over the next seven days in the Atlanta area. Far north Georgia may get an inch to an inch and a half of rainfall this next week.
