How to get organized before school starts

It's almost time to head back to school! Our declutter expert Laurie Wrobel from Clutter 911 has some tips to help you get organized.

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - Believe it or not, school is starting up soon. That means new papers, artwork, school supplies - and clutter!

Laurie Wrobel of Clutter 911 joined KARE 11 Sunrise to share some tips on how to get organized before the school year starts.

When it comes to younger students, Wrobel suggests donating any old school supplies, sports equipment or unused books. Donations can go to places like Goodwill, or to teachers who may need them for their classrooms.

For students heading to college, encourage them to go through old t-shirts and trophies and get rid of what they don't need. But - they don't have to do it all at once. Pick one area at a time so kids don't get overwhelmed.
