GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - A recent study estimated that older Americans are defrauded out of nearly $3 billion dollars each year. And, tragically, the threat of senior financial fraud is expected to grow as the senior population itself grows.

The good news is financial fraud is often 100 percent preventable. The Minnesota Commerce Department takes complaints and reports of fraud in the state and they even have a tool kit online that can help.
