GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. -- There's nothing better than a delicious tater tot hotdish. In honor of the eighth annual Minnesota Congressional Delegation Hotdish Competition, in Washington, D.C. Wednesday, Sunrise cooked up a hotdish of our own!
This recipe is from our producer Beth!
Ingredients:
- 1lb ground beef
- 1 big package of tater tots (1 pound or more if you want to bake the extra tots on the side)
- 2 cans condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1 can sweet corn
- 1 can green beans
Directions:
- Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
- Brown the ground beef – add seasoning, salt pepper, garlic -- and drain off the grease.
- Spread the beef in the bottom of a baking dish - smaller if you prefer a deeper hot dish!
- Drain the liquid off the vegetables and spread them over the meat.
- Spread the cans of soup over the top of the vegetables and meat.
- Arrange a layer of tater tots over the top of that.
- Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 50 minutes.
- You can top with cheese, or nothing (recommended with a bit of ketchup on the side)
