Youth Violence Prevention Summit

The Summit will include 4 workshops led by industry experts with a wealth of experience working with teens and young adults in the areas of interest selected by the YVPA, arts and entertainment performances, and a resource fair with representatives from Youth-Serving organizations."

HONEY, BABY

• ABOUT: "HONEY, BABY is a one-night, multidisciplinary exhibition featuring vibrant, large-scale paintings by three painters (Allison Johanson, Rita Kirsch Dungey and Emily Donovan), and live performances by three poets (Sean Singer, Jennifer L. Knox and Laura Rockhold). Co-curated by Allison Johanson and Laura Rockhold, HONEY, BABY is a highly anticipated, not-to-be-missed event for the Twin Cities literary and arts community, including attendance by collectors, publishers, editors, booksellers, poets, painters and artists of all genres."

Annual Pancake Breakfast

• ABOUT: "Women’s Prison Book Project is hosting our annual pancake breakfast and book sale on April 27, 2024 at Walker Community United Methodist from 8a-12p. Women’s Prison Book Project is a grassroots, all-volunteer run organization that provides books and reading materials to thousands of women, trans, and nonbinary people incarcerated in Minnesota and across the country. We believe that community and connection are important to addressing mass incarceration. 5k/10k Stride for Seniors

• ABOUT: "Join us for our 19th Annual Stride for Seniors at the Lake Harriet bandshell or virtually! At Walker Methodist our mission is Life. And all the living that goes with it. Enhancing the lives of older adults through a culture of care, respect, and service. Our 5k/10k Stride for Seniors helps raise funds to provide programs and services to over 3,000 residents and patients. Walker Methodist is a senior living organization providing housing, healthcare, rehabilitation, and services to older adults throughout the Twin Cities and surrounding communities.
  
  Our annual 5k/10k is a USATF certified course and is electronically timed. This makes our course ideal for a qualifying run. Prizes are awarded to the top female and male finishers in each respective age category.
  
  Can’t make it in person? Sign up for our virtual option! A race box including a Walker Methodist t-shirt and socks will be mailed to all virtual participants.
  
  Join us as we work to provide life enriching programs and services for older adults in our communities regardless of income, physical limitations, or length of stay."
