Big Island illness remains a mystery

Disease detectives at Hennepin County and MN Dept. of Health haven't been able to determine the exact pathogen that sickened at least 172 people who partied at Big Island in Lake Minnetonka July 4. It was most likely a water-borne illness caused by someone who was already sick when he or she arrived. The contaminated was more potent because so many revelers were concentrated in a tight area.
