Emergency insulin bill in limbo at Capitol
The Alec Smith Emergency Insulin bill has an uncertain fate at the State Capitol, because it's part of an omnibus bill that's in flux. The House version would create a statewide emergency supply system, that could grant 90 days worth of the life-saving drug. The Senate version would limit it to a 30-day supply. People with Type 1 diabetes have seen out-of-pocket costs soar for a drug that's 10 times cheaper in Canada.
