State backs up services hit by shutdown
The State of Minnesota will be the backstop for federally-funded services threatened by the federal government's partial shutdown, at least in the short run. Gov. Walz and other state officials tried to reassure Minnesotans that no assistance programs have been cut yet, and no state employees have received layoff notices at this point.
