ST. PAUL -- You can add Governor Tim Pawlenty to the list of notable people who have wrongly put the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis.
Pawlenty appeared Thursday night on CNN with host Glenn Beck. At one point, Pawlenty says, "When you come to Minneapolis for the convention ..."
Ironically, Pawlenty works in St. Paul and help persaude the Republican National Committee to hold its convention in the Xcel Center there.
On Friday, Pawlenty's spokesman says his boss misspoke.
Spokesman Brian McClung says when Pawlenty talks about the convention he typically says "Minnesota" instead of a specific city because St. Paul, Minneapolis, Bloomington and several other cities are all playing a role.
Earlier this week, CBS Evening News anchor Katie Couric did a rare on-air correction of an earlier story that said the convention would be in Minneapolis.
