MILWAUKEE -- A spokeswoman for the Milwaukee County Zoo says an adult polar bear has accidentally fallen into a moat but is uninjured.

Laura Pedriani says Zero was playing with a toy Monday when he slipped into the moat and was caught by netting. She says zoo officials cut the netting, lowering the bear to the moat floor.

Pedriani says it's up to Zero when he climbs back up to the top of his enclosure.

Pedriani says it could be hours before that happens or days. She says it might just be when he gets hungry enough. Pedriani says the same bear fell into the moat nine years ago and stayed there for nine days.

She says Zero was born at the zoo and is about 15 years old.
