41 Chihuahuas rescued from N. Minn. home

More than 40 Chihuahua mixes were rescued from a home in Carlton County on Wednesday.

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - Forty-one Chihuahuas were rescued from a northern Minnesota home this week, according to the Animal Humane Society (AHS).

Early Wednesday morning, AHS says its Critical Response Team traveled to Carlton County to aid dozens of Chihuahuas "living in overcrowded and unsanitary conditions." More than 40 Chihuahua mixes, including tiny, unweaned puppies and pregnant mothers, were removed from the home and brought to AHS for full medical evaluations, vaccinations and behavioral care.

AHS says the Chihuahuas will be available for adoption after treatments.
