A look into Diana Pierce's latest passion project

Eighteen months after closing her chapter at KARE 11, she launched into an exciting yet familiar new adventure.

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. — Diana Pierce is a Twin Cities TV News icon near and dear to the heart of KARE 11. For 32 years she graced the anchor desk here. She now hosts a Facebook live stream called "What's Next with Diana Pierce."

Commenting on some of her motivations for starting the stream, Di says, "It was one of those things where it's like here's a market for the 50-plus crowd. They have expendable income. They are not necessarily being served by the other stations that are looking for the 25 to 40 crowd."

Every Thursday night, on Facebook, she goes live.

Although the show is geared to the 50-plus crowd, anyone at any age will be able to get something useful out of it.

The focus is reinventing yourself at work, in retirement, in health, in finance.

The whole show is written, produced, shot, edited and broadcast by Di and her partner.

When asked how she likes being on the other side of the business, Di says, "It's exciting. It's really exciting. It's tech that brings its challenges, so that every time we do a Facebook Live we discover that sometimes Facebook doesn't play nice with us. But that's okay. It's all part of the new horizon."

Di says she doesn't miss her anchor desk, because she feels she's still doing the same type of work.

"The great thing about anchoring is you have all kinds of stories that come to you," she says. "The majority of them are always sad and always kind of destructive. What I'm doing now, I see it as more informational."

For Di, her new pursuit is the embodiment of living your passion at any age, something Di is clearly doing.

Happy un-retirement, Di.
