MINNETONKA, Minn. — The Minnesota State Patrol says at least one person is dead in a crash involving a school bus and vehicle at Highway 62 and Shady Oak Road in Minnetonka. The State Patrol added that no one on the bus was injured.

Emergency crews are on the scene of the crash involving the school bus and vehicle.

Video taken by a KARE 11 news crew shows a school bus and vehicle were damaged in the crash Monday afternoon.

When reached for comment, a spokesperson from Playworks released the following statement to KARE 11:

“A Playworks school bus was involved in an accident this afternoon due to the snowy weather. None of the students were injured, and they were all safely transported home. We were saddened to learn that the driver of the other car passed away as a result of the accident. We will be offering counseling services to any children who were impacted by the experience.”

The Minnetonka School District has confirmed with KARE 11 that this is not one of their school buses.

This is a developing story. KARE 11 will provide more details as new information becomes available.
