PYEONGCHANG, South Korea - Afton's Jessie Diggins just missed out on another Winter Olympics medal early Thursday morning. It was her grueling performance and post-race social media post that has everyone talking.
Diggins' best shot at an individual cross-country medal came in the 10K freestyle. She finished with a time of 25:35.7, good for fifth-place and just 3.3 seconds from a bronze medal. Norway's Ragnhild Haga won gold with a time of 25:00.5. Watch the entire race here (Diggins' finish comes at 1:03.00 mark).
Still, she had a positive attitude after the race posting to Instagram, "Don’t be sorry for me because I just missed a medal…be happy WITH me, because I fought like a hell today!"

She continued, "I pushed my body so far past its limits I’m actually kind of amazed I didn’t pass out on that final climb. Looking back and knowing you gave it absolutely everything you had without holding back is a great feeling. 30km of racing down…3 race days to go!"
Diggins will be back in action on Saturday hoping to break the USA women’s cross country medal shutout in the 4 X 5M relay.
