We've teamed up with Andrea Swensson, host of The Local Show on The Current to bring you the best local shows for this weekend.

MINNEAPOLIS — Friday

Husband and wife team Low are playing a special show at The Fitzgerald Theater celebrating the 20th anniversary of their 'Christmas' album. They describe their style as 'heaven-and-earth harmonies'. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the music starts at 8 p.m. for this all-ages show. A portion of proceeds will benefit 826MSP, an organization working to empower underserved students through creative writing. 

Yam Haus, Graveyard Club and Dwynell Roland are three local acts playing at First Avenue. Clearly they're hometown heroes, as the show is sold out! Hopefully you were lucky enough to get your tickets ahead of time....18+ show starts at 7 p.m. 

Saturday

In the mood for some women slaying rock n' roll? Kiss the Tiger, a five-piece rocker outfit, The Mae Simpson band and Faith Boblett will be out at Turf Club Saturday night. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. for this 21+ show. 

The Dillinger Four's 25th Anniversary Show is at First Avenue. If you aren't familiar with the band, their bio claims they are "to the ‘90s and ’00s what Black Flag was to the ’80s (without the Grateful Dead worship)." Pegboy, The Brokedowns and Partial Traces opening. The 18+ shows starts at 7 p.m.

Two Harbors+ LowRay with guests The Havana Sleeve are playing at Hook and Ladder Theater. A night of good old fashioned rock n' roll has been promised for all attendees. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. for this 21+ show.
