Commercial building fire in St. Paul under investigation

There were no workers inside the building and no injuries were sustained by civilians or firefighters. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Saint Paul firefighters responded Friday night to a call for smoke in a commercial building at 1303 Red Rock Road.

The building is located in the south end of the city. On arrival the fire department found heavy smoke in the building.

Access was delayed due to locked gates. Once access was gained, firefighters discovered the fire in a large open area in the middle of the building. It appeared to be a large pile of trash or recyclable materials, according to the Office of the Fire Chief Butch Inks.

There were no workers inside the building and no injuries were sustained by civilians or firefighters. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
