ST. PAUL, Minn. - Three young children from St. Paul are in protective custody because their mother is accused of whipping them with an electrical cord.

A criminal complaint filed against 31-year-old Khima McAdory says she told investigators she used the extension cord because her children - all under age 7 - did not clean their rooms properly.

"I'm not going to lie to you, I did whoop my kids with a cord," she allegedly told responding officers.

Prosecutors also say McAdory made other threats against her children, including telling one she was going to cut her throat with a knife.

The children were later taken to the Midwest Children's where they were interviewed and photographed. Authorities say there were too many injuries on the children to count.

McAdory faces two felony and two gross misdemeanor charges. Two of the charges deal with alleged threats she made to her children.

The defendant denies making threats.
