One person was wounded Monday morning following a shooting at the Walmart in Blaine.

BLAINE, Minn. — Police say a man suspected of shooting someone outside of a Walmart store in Blaine Monday is in custody awaiting charges.

Investigators say the 29-year-old suspect arrived at a western Wisconsin hospital seeking medical treatment on Monday, hours after the shooting took place. He was eventually taken to a local hospital where he was arrested.

Dispatchers received a 911 call around 5:15 a.m. reporting gunfire outside the store, which is located at 11505 Ulysses St NE. Arriving squads found a man in his 30s suffering from wounds to the ear and head that are described as non-life threatening. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Blaine Police spokesman Capt. Mark Boerboom says it appears the shooter and the victim know each other. Investigators found two shell casings in the parking lot, are talking to witnesses and reviewing surveillance video to develop leads and hopefully make a quick arrest in the case.

At this point police have not commented on a potential motive. Official charges could come Wednesday.
