CASS LAKE, Minn. — A teenager has been arrested in the death of a man inside a Cass Lake home that authorities are calling a homicide.
The Cass County Sheriff's Office says deputies responded to an emergency call at the home just before 6 p.m. on Monday. Arriving officers found 19-year-old Brandon Morgan Jr. dead on the scene.
Leech Lake Tribal Police and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension immediately began investigating along with the sheriff's office, and a 15-year-old boy was quickly identified as a suspect. He was arrested and is currently in custody.
Cass County Sheriff Tom Burch still has not released the cause of death. That will likely wait until the official results of the autopsy on Morgan.
