Donut Day triggers avalanche of cop posts

Rather than wait to become the butt of the joke on National Donut Day, police departments across America and here in Minnesota took the offensive and created their own humorous posts about the celebrated relationship between the caloric rings of deliciousness and men and women in blue.

Sometimes it's just best to be proactive.

Rather than wait to become the butt of the joke on National Donut Day, police departments across America and here in Minnesota took the offensive and created their own humorous posts about the celebrated relationship between the caloric rings of deliciousness and men and women in blue.

Take the Chisago County Sheriff's department, who simulated a poker game between deputies and a baker, with the caption 'We're all in on National Donut Day...'

Or their comrades in Shakopee, who posed behind crime tape with evidence markers all over the ground. "We're dedicated to investigating every missing sprinkle," the post reads.

In West St. Paul a couple of officers are trying to earn brownie points with their boss, posting a picture of the Chief and a couple dozen donuts.

A bit east in the Dairyland State, the Wausau Police Department took it to a new level, creating a satirical video painting National Donut Day as sort of a Christmas for Cops. Well done, community protectors... well done.
